About SBIR Week
The 2020 Regional SBIR Weeks are virtual, collaborative outreach efforts connecting entrepreneurs working on advanced technologies to the country’s largest source of early stage funding – the SBIR/STTR programs. Also known as America’s Seed Fund, the SBIR/STTR programs provide over $3.7 billion in funding to small businesses each year in a wide variety of technology areas.
Wyoming’s portion of SBIR Week in the Rockies is hosted by the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network and its Wyoming SBIR/STTR Initiative (WSSI).
Why Should You Attend?
Each virtual event, hosted by a local organization, will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear directly from the participating federal agency program managers that administer over 5,500 new awards annually and to meet virtually one-on-one with program decision makers.
Going Virtual
This year’s event will be held virtually over three days. Day one will highlight national speakers, day two will highlight Wyoming speakers, and day three will consist of one-on-one sessions with SBIR experts from various agencies (there are a limited number of one-on-one sessions available, so reserve your spot now). Find out more about each day of the event below.
No Cost
Register once to gain access to all three days of the event.
Day 1: National Speakers

Hear presentations from federal experts on the following topics:
- SBIR/STTR Basics
- Inside the Head of an Evaluator: Common Mistakes
- Success in Phase I – Moving to Phase II and Beyond
- and more.

Day 2: SBIR/STTR Overview and Phase I Proposal Preparation
Thursday, August 13
8:30 am – 12:30 pm
This workshop begins with some basics of the SBIR/STTR programs, including important recent changes coming from the programs’ most recent reauthorizations. It then covers a simple but effective process for developing a competitive Phase I SBIR or STTR proposal to any of the 11 participating agencies. The workshop is suitable for newcomers to the SBIR/STTR programs, as well as those who have previously submitted Phase I proposals but have not received awards. Even successful Phase I winners will find relevant and useful information, particularly as the SBIR/STTR programs evolve toward greater emphasis on commercialization.
Day 3: One-on-One Sessions
Friday, August 14
8 am – 3 pm
Register by August 7 to reserve your one-on-one sessions. Priority will be given to Wyoming businesses. See participating agencies below.
Information about reserving your one-on-one sessions will be sent from the SBA following your registration.
